This project is a multi-year umbrella initiative aimed at embedding a data-centric and innovative culture within the Brazilian subsidiary of one of the largest CPGs in the world. It later encompassed numerous data and AI initiatives, supporting all the company’s business units in the country and spreading to five otherLatin American subsidiaries.


It started in 2018 and continues to this day, becoming a critical component of Nestlé's digital transformation and continuous focus on innovation, allowing the company to strategically reposition itself in its fifth-largest market. I participated from its inception and definition leading the technical data team for CI&T from the business proposal and engagement with Nestlé until mid-2021, when I moved on to develop the same proposition for other clients.


I was responsible for leading the technical and business teams which laid the foundation of agile, data science and experimentation. We integrated data engineering and infrastructure with analysis, experimentation, data hunting, data science, product development, process optimization, data governance, and software deployment to drive performance improvements and cost reductions. I worked closely with executive leadership, including the CEO, COO, VP, and Division Directors, to translate business needs into actionable data projects. In addition, I also oversaw talent acquisition, training, and mentorship.


Teams had data engineers, scientists, analysts, digital experts, and product managers, all utilizing agile methodologies and software development best practices to create a streamlined data delivery process, incorporating CRISP-DM, DAMA and AB Testing by design. Since its inception the initiative has developed and deployed advanced algorithms supporting product launches, supply chain management, pricing, and customer loyalty programs. 


This project was one of the earliest large-scale enterprise deployments of Microsoft Azure and Databricks world wide, establishing a robust foundation for data operations and earning significant recognition both in Brazil and at the global headquarters.
